Forward and view remittances

Send remittance emails and files to Streamlined, and see the remittance or check image on a payment.

A remittance is your customer's note saying which invoices a payment covers: an email, a PDF, a spreadsheet, or a check stub. Streamlined reads it to suggest the invoices, and you confirm them.

How a remittance reaches Streamlined

  • You forward it by email, to your team's forwarding address.

  • You upload or paste it in Reconcile. When you match a payment, drop the file on Upload remittance advice, or paste the text on the Auto-match tab.

  • It's on the check. For checks mailed to your lockbox, the check image is attached to the payment.

Forward a remittance by email

  1. On Transactions, open the arrow next to Record transaction.

  2. Copy the address under Forward remittance advice via email.

  3. Forward remittance emails to that address, with the file attached or the details in the body.

You'll get a reply saying whether it was matched to a payment. If the payment hasn't arrived yet, the reply says it couldn't be matched. Streamlined keeps the remittance and attaches it when a matching payment arrives.

Note: Forward from the email address you sign in to Streamlined with. Mail from an address that isn't a user on your team isn't processed, and you'll get a reply saying so. Ask customers to send remittances to you, and forward them yourself.

Confirm the suggested invoices

Streamlined reads the invoice numbers on the remittance and suggests those invoices for the payment. Open the payment with Match to see them filled in, with the remittance beside them. Each invoice starts at its full balance, so check the amounts, then click Confirm. See match a payment to an invoice.

View a remittance or check image

  1. Go to Transactions and open the payment.

  2. Under Attachments, click the file to download it.

In Reconcile, the remittance shows next to the invoices, with Download remittance advice.
