Approve new customer applications

Share your sign-up link, review applications, and approve new customers with net terms.

New customers apply through your sign-up link. You approve or archive each application, and an approved customer is ready to invoice. The form asks for their business details, contacts, who pays invoices, whether they want net terms, and whether they're tax exempt.

Turn on sign-up and share the link

  1. Go to Settings > Customers.

  2. Under Onboarding, turn on Customer sign-up.

  3. Copy the Sign-up link and send it to new customers, or add it to your website.

Customers who'd rather not apply online can use Download PDF version and email it back. To add a filled-in PDF, go to Customers, click ▾ next to Add Customer, and choose Import application from PDF.

New applications email whoever is on New customer application in your team alerts.

Tip: On Scale and Enterprise, the form can ask customers to save a card or bank account for QuickPay. Choose Optional or Required in the QuickPay section of Settings > Customers.

Review and approve an application

  1. Go to Customers > Applications and open one under Pending approval.

  2. Review the answers and any files. To print them, click Print application (the print icon).

  3. Click Approve, or Archive to decline it.

  4. In Approve application, set Net terms.

  5. Choose whether to add the customer to Shopify or HubSpot, then click Confirm.

Note: Only you set net terms, whatever the applicant asked for. Your default terms are filled in.

Add to Shopify or HubSpot

If Shopify is connected, tick Add to Shopify and choose the Shopify store. Then pick an Account type: Customer, or Company for a B2B company. Company puts the customer in a group.

A new Shopify company gets the Net terms you set when approving. An existing Shopify company you link to keeps its own Shopify terms.

If the Shopify step fails, the application stays approved. Click Retry export to try again.

If HubSpot is connected, you can tick Add to HubSpot.

Send a welcome message

Approving doesn't email the customer. Find them under Recently approved and click Send welcome message. You can edit the subject and message first. Afterwards the list shows Messaged.

When a customer can't submit

Ask them to try again shortly. If it keeps happening, email help@streamlinedpayments.com with the customer's business name and the error they saw.
