Streamlined works out the total again each time you save an edit. If it didn't change, the edit usually wasn't saved, the invoice is already paid, or it came from Shopify and follows Shopify's totals.
How the total is worked out
Each line's amount is its quantity times its price, less any line discount. The lines add up to the Subtotal. The Discount comes off, and Shipping and tax are added, to give the total.
The unit price under a line is rounded to the cent, but the line amount uses the exact price. So quantity times the price you see can be a few cents off. The invoice counts the line amount.
Check these first
Did you click Save? Leaving the edit page without saving drops your changes. Open the invoice again to check.
Is the invoice paid? You can't edit an invoice with no balance left. Use a credit or debit note instead.
Is a line duplicated? Click Edit invoice (✎), remove the extra line with Remove item (the trash icon), and click Save.
Has a payment come in? The balance owed is the new total less what's already been paid.
Fix an invoice from Shopify
Shopify is the source for a Shopify order's lines and totals. When the order changes in Shopify, Streamlined updates the invoice to match. This can replace items, prices, or shipping you changed only in Streamlined.
Edit the order in Shopify.
Open the invoice in Streamlined and click Sync Shopify (↻).
Some Shopify changes don't reach the invoice:
Once the invoice is paid in full, Shopify changes no longer update its total.
On a partly paid invoice, a change that would bring the total below what's been paid isn't applied.
With Do not update invoices after they are issued on in your Shopify settings, issued invoices don't follow Shopify at all.
Let your customer know
After you fix the total, click Send reminder on the invoice. Your customer gets the updated amount.
If it's still wrong, email help@streamlinedpayments.com with the invoice number, the total you expected, the total you see, and what you changed. For a Shopify invoice, include the Shopify order number.
