Manage your product catalog

Add, import, edit, archive, and merge the products and services you invoice for.

Your catalog is on the Products page, titled Products & services. As you type a line on an invoice, Streamlined suggests items from it, so names, codes, and prices fill in faster.

Where products come from

You add products one at a time or import a CSV. Streamlined also saves any invoice line that isn't in your catalog yet as a product. A line with the same SKU or name as an existing product counts toward that product.

The list shows each product's SKU, Unit Price, Unit, Usage (how many invoice lines used it), and Last Used. Use the Active, Archived, and All tabs to switch views.

Add a product

  1. Click Add Product.

  2. Enter a Name, and optionally a Description and a SKU (or Item code).

  3. Enter the Unit Price (or Rate), the Currency, and the Unit, such as each, hour, or month.

  4. Click Save.

To edit a product, click it in the list, change it, and click Save.

Import products from a CSV

  1. Click the arrow next to Add Product and choose Import products from CSV.

  2. Download the sample CSV file and name your columns to match.

  3. Enter prices in cents, for example 1999 for 19.99.

  4. Upload your file, check the columns Streamlined found, and click Import.

Only name is required. You'll see how many products were created, updated, and skipped. A row with the same SKU as an existing product updates that product. If a row has a problem, the import stops and shows the row and what to fix.

Archive a product

An archived product stays on past invoices but stops appearing in suggestions. Open the product and click Archive, or select several in the list and click Archive. To bring one back, find it on the Archived tab and click Reactivate.

Merge duplicates

Note: Merging can't be undone.

  1. Select the products in the list and click Merge.

  2. Choose the primary product to keep, and confirm.

The others merge into it, and their usage history moves with them.
