Invoices, reminders, and statements go to the email on the customer's preferred billing address. On Enterprise, you can also set a different address for each kind of email. You change both on the customer's Profile tab.
Set the preferred billing address
On the customer's Profile tab, the Addresses section marks one address Preferred billing. Its Primary email gets the emails. Everyone in its Additional emails is copied on invoices and reminders.
Open the customer and go to the Profile tab.
Under Addresses, click ⋯ on the right address.
Choose Set as preferred billing, or Edit to change its emails.
Note: With no preferred billing address, invoices use the customer's first address, which may be a shipping address. That's the usual reason reminders reach the ship-to contact instead of accounts payable.
Customers in a group
If the customer's group has a preferred billing address, invoices and reminders use the group's address instead. Change it on the group's Profile tab.
Invoices already issued
An issued invoice keeps the address it was issued to, so the printed address doesn't change later. Its reminders follow the current preferred billing address, so fixing the address fixes future reminders too.
Set a different address for each email
On Enterprise, the Email delivery card on the Profile tab has three fields:
Invoice submission email: invoices and balance adjustments.
Accounts payable email: payment reminders, receipts, and refund notices.
Statements email: account statements.
Fill in all three to be sure where each email goes. A group's Email delivery settings take priority over its members' own. CCs still come from the billing address's Additional emails.
Payment receipts
A receipt goes to the email your customer typed when paying, if any. Otherwise it follows the rules above.
When an email didn't arrive
Streamlined can't send an email when there's no delivery email and no email on the billing address. Add an email to the preferred billing address. If it still doesn't arrive, email help@streamlinedpayments.com with the customer's name, the invoice number, and the date it should have gone.
