See what syncs between Shopify and Streamlined

What comes in from Shopify, what goes back, the customer fields Streamlined adds to Shopify, and the settings you control.

Once your store is connected, orders, customers, and payments move between Shopify and Streamlined on their own. Shopify is the source of truth for what's on an order.

What comes in from Shopify

  • Orders waiting for payment arrive as draft invoices. See which orders become invoices.

  • Changes to an order, such as items, prices, shipping, and cancellations, update its invoice. See edit an order that came from Shopify.

  • Customers come in with their orders, and B2B companies become customer groups.

  • Payments made in Shopify are recorded on the invoice.

Note: Shopify's B2B features, such as companies and payment terms, are on its Basic, Grow, Advanced, and Plus plans, not Starter or Retail.

What goes back to Shopify

  • Payments and credit notes in Streamlined are recorded on the Shopify order. See sync payments with Shopify.

  • Payment terms you set when you issue an invoice.

  • Customers you add to Shopify from Streamlined, such as from a customer application.

Fields Streamlined adds to Shopify customers

On a customer's page in Shopify, under Metafields, Streamlined adds:

  • Statement URL: a link to the customer's statement. A B2B company gets one for its group's statement. Streamlined fills it in, so you can copy it but not edit it.

  • Additional Emails: addresses copied on invoices and reminders, separated by commas. In Streamlined they're the billing address's Additional emails.

  • Invoice Submission Email, Accounts Payable Email, and Statements Email (Enterprise): they match the customer's Email delivery fields in Streamlined.

You can fill in Additional Emails in Shopify. Streamlined picks them up the next time it imports an order for that customer. The other three email fields come in from Shopify only when Streamlined first adds the customer. After that, change them on the customer's page in Streamlined.

Settings you control

On the Shopify card in Settings > Integrations, click ⋮ and choose Settings. There you set Import Rules, Update Rules, and Auto-invoice. See connect Shopify for what each one does.

Who can use this feature?

  • Team members with Settings access, to change sync settings

  • Available on all plans. Email delivery fields need Enterprise.
