It depends on how your customer paid. Card payments show right away. Bank debits take a few business days. Bank transfers and checks show once the money or the check reaches Streamlined.
Timing by payment method
Card: the payment shows, and the invoice is paid, as soon as the charge goes through.
Bank debit: usually 2 to 4 business days. The invoice shows PROCESSING until the money arrives, then closes.
Bank transfer (ACH or wire): usually within one business day of the money reaching the bank account on your customer's invoice, often sooner. Weekends and bank holidays add time.
Check: usually within two business days of the check reaching your lockbox, plus mail time.
While a bank debit processes, it's under Pending transactions on the Transactions page. Open it to see "It should be available by" a date. Reminders for the invoice are pushed back 3 days.
When a payment waits for you
Card and bank debit payments are tied to the invoices your customer picked. Bank transfers and checks arrive on their own. Streamlined applies one automatically when an open invoice is for that amount. See turn automatic payment matching on or off.
If it pays several invoices or only part of one, it waits on the Transactions page under "payments couldn't be matched to an open invoice". There, you match it to an invoice.
Tip: To have every bank transfer and check from a customer wait for you, turn off Auto-reconciliation on the customer's Billing tab.
When the money reaches your bank
Showing in Streamlined isn't the same as being paid out. Card, bank debit, and some bank transfer money follows your Stripe payout schedule. Streamlined pays out checks and other bank transfers on business days. See how payouts work.
When a payment is late
If it's been longer than the times above, find the payment your customer says they sent. If a bank debit didn't go through, see failed or returned payments.
