Net terms are the number of days after the issue date that an invoice is due. When you issue an invoice, Streamlined sets the due date once. It uses the invoice's own terms first, then the customer's, then your default.
The choices are Due on receipt, Net 7, Net 10, Net 15, Net 30, Net 45, Net 60, and Net 90.
Set your default terms
Go to Settings > Collections > Default net terms. Your default applies wherever a customer or invoice has no terms of its own. New accounts start at Net 30.
Set terms for a customer or group
For one customer, go to Customers, open the customer, choose Profile, and pick their Net terms. Default means they use yours. A customer on Due on receipt stays on it even when your default is Net 30.
For a customer group, set Net terms on the group's profile. This copies the terms to every customer in the group right then.
Note: A customer who joins the group later keeps their own terms until you save the group's terms again.
Set terms on one invoice
In the draft, under Payment terms, pick Default (the customer's terms, otherwise yours), a term such as Net 30, or Fixed date to choose the exact Due date.
The due date is the issue date plus the term's days, set when you issue. A backdated issue date moves the due date back with it. Changing terms later doesn't move issued invoices.
Change the due date on an issued invoice
Open the invoice and click Edit invoice (✎).
Change the Due date. For Net 30, pick the date 30 days after the issue date.
Click Save.
Terms on milestones, recurring invoices, and Shopify orders
Milestones: each has its own Payment term, counted from the day it's issued. Edit the invoice to change a milestone that hasn't been issued. Issued milestones can't be changed. See milestones.
Recurring invoices: each invoice gets its due date from its own issue date. To change the terms on a series, email help@streamlinedpayments.com with the invoice number.
Shopify orders: terms come from Shopify.
