Streamlined imports Shopify orders that are still waiting for payment. Each one arrives as a draft invoice under Invoices > Draft, numbered with its Shopify order number.
Which orders import
An order is imported when:
its payment status in Shopify is Payment pending;
it has a customer, and that customer has at least one address;
it isn't cancelled;
it passes your Import Rules tag setting.
Orders paid, partially paid, or refunded at checkout aren't imported: your customer already paid in Shopify. If an order is paid in Shopify before you issue its draft, the draft is removed. See bring in a missing Shopify order.
How payment terms carry over
Net 7, 15, 30, 45, 60, or 90 become net terms, with the due date set when you issue the invoice.
Due on receipt stays due on receipt.
A fixed date becomes that due date.
No terms uses your usual net terms.
Issue invoices automatically
Auto-invoice is off by default, so drafts wait for you to issue them.
In Settings > Integrations, click ⋮ on the Shopify card, then click Settings.
Turn on Auto-issue and send invoices after importing from Shopify.
Pick one of the rules below.
Click Save changes.
Send all invoices immediately: issued as soon as the order imports.
Send on issue date: an order with fixed-date terms and a future issue date is scheduled for that date. Other orders are issued on import.
Send when order is fulfilled: issued once any part of the order is fulfilled.
Send if order is tagged with... or Send if customer is tagged with...: issued when the order or customer has your tag.
Note: The rule is checked when an order is imported or updated from Shopify. If you add a tag after the draft arrived, click Re-sync on the draft's Shopify card.
Shopify B2B companies
Use B2B companies with payment terms, so orders are placed as Payment pending. Shopify includes B2B on its Basic, Grow, Advanced, and Plus plans, not Starter or Retail.
Each company with at least one contact becomes a customer group, with its contacts as members. On Scale and Enterprise, with centralized billing on, the main contact becomes the group's billing account.
Who can use this feature?
Team members with Invoices access, to issue drafts
Team members with Settings access, to turn on auto-invoice
Available on all plans. B2B billing accounts need Scale or Enterprise.
