QuickPay charges your customer's saved card or bank account for invoices once they're past due, never before. Until the due date, your customer can still pay another way.
Turn on QuickPay
In Settings > Payments, turn on Card payment or Bank debit for invoices. Then enroll your customers.
When a charge runs
Streamlined charges once a day, for past-due invoices that still have a balance.
A newly issued invoice, or one whose balance recently changed (a partial payment, a credit note, or a late fee), waits for a later run.
A newly saved payment method isn't charged the same day it's saved.
For a milestone invoice, only past-due milestones are charged.
Several invoices due at once are charged together as one payment.
In a group with a Billing Account, its saved method is charged for every member's invoices.
A card payment pays the invoice right away. A bank account payment shows as processing for a few business days.
What your customer receives
Your customer gets:
an email when they save a payment method;
a notice 7 business days before each due date;
a receipt for each charge;
an email if a charge fails.
They don't get your regular reminders while QuickPay can charge them.
When a charge fails
The customer's Billing tab shows Invalid payment method. The invoice says the payment was declined and when Streamlined will try again.
Streamlined retries a few times, then stops until your customer saves a payment method again. It stops straight away if the card is expired or lost, or the bank account is closed.
Find out why an invoice isn't charged
The QuickPay label on an invoice means the customer is set up for automatic billing, not that a payment went through. Check:
Is the invoice past due, and was it issued or changed recently?
Does the customer's Billing tab show Invalid payment method?
Is it a bank account payment that's still processing?
Is the customer in a group whose Billing Account has no saved method?
Tip: On Scale and Enterprise, Reports > QuickPay shows who uses QuickPay, what it has collected, and which invoices are paid, billed, or upcoming.
If none of these explain it, email help@streamlinedpayments.com with the customer's name, the invoice number, and the due date.
