Payments sync both ways. A payment in Streamlined is recorded on the Shopify order, and a payment in Shopify is recorded on the invoice.
Payments made in Streamlined
When a payment or a credit note is added to a Shopify invoice, Streamlined records it on the Shopify order as a payment from "Streamlined." A fully paid invoice shows the order as paid in Shopify. A partly paid invoice brings Shopify's balance down to match.
Refunds, debit notes, and chargebacks in Streamlined aren't written to Shopify.
Payments made in Shopify
When Shopify reports an order as paid, Streamlined records each Shopify payment on the invoice as an external payment from Shopify.
If the invoice already has a payment or a refund in Streamlined, Streamlined doesn't add the Shopify payment. This keeps the same money from being counted twice.
A Shopify payment you didn't receive
A Shopify payment on an invoice means Shopify reported the order as paid. Someone may have marked the order as paid in Shopify, or your customer paid through your Shopify checkout. Check the order's history in Shopify to see which.
Shopify payments can't be refunded or removed in Streamlined. If the money was collected in Shopify, refund it there. If the payment shouldn't be on the invoice, email the Streamlined team and they'll take care of it.
When the two don't match
Don't record the same payment again on the other side. That can leave the order or invoice overpaid. Instead, email help@streamlinedpayments.com with:
the Shopify order number;
the Streamlined invoice number;
the amount and date of the payment, and where your customer paid.
To record money you received outside both, see record a payment received elsewhere.
