Let a customer pay several invoices or part of one

Send a statement so a customer can pay many invoices at once, and see how partial payments work.

A customer can pay several invoices in one payment from their statement. Online, they can pay part of an invoice only on milestone invoices. Otherwise, they pay part by sending less money by bank transfer or check.

Pay several invoices online

Every customer has a statement page that lists their open invoices.

  1. Open the customer and click View account statement.

  2. Send your customer the link to that page.

  3. Have your customer select the invoices they want to pay.

  4. Have them click Pay now and pay by card or bank debit.

It's one charge for the total, and each selected invoice is paid in full.

Pay several invoices by bank transfer or check

Your customer sends one payment and tells you which invoices it covers, usually in a remittance. If Streamlined can't tell which invoices it pays, it waits for you on the Transactions page. You then apply it across the invoices in a few clicks.

Pay part of an invoice

  • Online, by card or bank debit: the payment is always the invoice's full balance. Your customer can't enter a smaller amount.

  • Milestone invoices (Scale and Enterprise): at checkout, your customer picks Overdue balance, Current balance, or Total balance. They pay only the stages you've issued. See installments.

  • By bank transfer or check: your customer can send any amount. When you apply it, the invoice stays open for what's left.

Who can use this feature?

  • Team members with Customers access

  • Available on all plans. Milestone invoices are on Scale and Enterprise.
