To stop automatic reminders for one customer, give them a tag and exclude that tag in your reminder settings. Every customer with the tag stops getting automatic reminders, including reminders already scheduled for their open invoices.
Exclude a tag from reminders
You do this once. After that, tagging a customer is enough. Exceptions appears once you have at least one reminder under Active Reminders.
Go to Settings > Collections > Automated reminders.
Under Exceptions, turn on Exclude customers based on tags.
Type a one-word tag, such as NOREMINDERS, and press Enter.
Click Save changes.
Note: Pressing space adds the tag, so a two-word tag is split in two.
Tag the customer
Open the customer and go to the Profile tab.
In Details, click Edit details (✎).
Type the same tag under Tags and press Enter.
Click Save.
Upper and lower case don't matter. When it's working, the customer's Profile tab says "This customer will be excluded from receiving auto reminders."
Pause reminders while a check is in the mail
There's no pause button, but the tag works as one. Add the tag when your customer says the check is on its way. Remove it from their Tags once the payment is recorded.
Reminders dated while the tag was on are skipped, not sent later. Once the invoice is paid, its reminders stop on their own.
Reminders the tag doesn't affect
Reminders you send by hand with Send reminder still go out.
Tags belong to customers, not groups. To exclude every member of a group, tag each member.
Statements have their own tag exclusion. See send or export a statement.
Customers on QuickPay don't get regular reminders anyway, while QuickPay can charge them. For the rest of the schedule, see set up automatic reminders.
If a tagged customer still gets automatic reminders, email help@streamlinedpayments.com with the customer's name, the tag you used, and the date of the reminder.
