Streamlined creates a new Stripe account for you when you set up payouts. You can't connect a Stripe account you already have. That account keeps working as it is.
Why it's a new account
The account Streamlined creates is set up for how Streamlined takes payments: invoices, bank transfers, and card payments from businesses. Streamlined reviews and approves your business for it. A Stripe account you opened yourself is set up for Stripe's own products, so it can't take payments through Streamlined.
What happens to the Stripe account you already have
Nothing. It stays separate, with its own payments, payouts, and settings. Payments your customers make through Streamlined appear only in the new account. Payments in your existing account don't appear in Streamlined. You can use the same email address for both.
Set up the new account
Go to Settings > Payments.
Under Payment methods, in the Let's set up your payments banner, click Get started in with the Stripe logo.
Fill in Stripe's form with your business details, a business representative, and the bank account your payouts go to.
If you leave before you finish, the banner reads Finish setting up your payments. Click Complete setup with to pick up where you left off. If Stripe asks for more details later, Payouts shows Complete setup with too.
Sign in to the new account
Go to Settings > Payments and, under Payouts, click Login to with the Stripe logo. Stripe opens in a new tab. From there you can change the bank account your payouts go to and see your Stripe payouts.
Tip: If you also sign in to Stripe directly, check that you're in the account set up through Streamlined before you change anything.
To follow a payout from Streamlined, see track your payouts.
